Community and Voluntary Organisations

County Leitrim Community forum is a body that represents the community and voluntary sector in the county. It is made up of representatives from the four electoral areas, the two community networks and nine sectors. The Forum works to represent the voluntary and community sectors, and has representation on many statutory bodies. They lobby government departments and other agencies, on behalf of the voluntary sector. Leitrim’s Community Forum is comprised of approximately twenty six members. The North and South Leitrim Community Networks each elect two male and two female representatives while each of the four electoral areas elect one male and one female member.

Leitrim has a very active community and voluntary sector with over 350 groups across the county.
