Recreation facilities available in the County include playgrounds in all the main towns and in many of the villages. There are gym and leisure facilities available in Aura Leisure Centre in Carrick on Shannon, the Bee Park Resource Centre in Manorhamilton and in the Lough Allen Hotel in Drumshanbo. There are several walking trails in Leitrim with further details available on www.enjoyleitrim.com/walking. There are also a number of public parks and tennis courts in the County.

Leitrim Sports Partnership is a voluntary board of sports reps, state agencies and local government which is based in the offices of Leitrim County Council. There is a Sports Co-ordinator and Administrator who organize training for clubs, run events with schools, children/adults with disabilities and communities as well as organizing certain bigger events to increase activity in Leitrim.
If you just want to get fit or meet people in a fun setting, there is also a range of activities organized by Leitrim Sports Partnership and other groups/individuals. Examples include:
zumba - yoga - bootcamps
aqua aerobics - horseriding
hillwalking - bowls
boxercise - golf for beginners
circuit training - bums and tums
