Carole Coleman speaks at Carrick-on-Shannon 400 Wrap Event

Carole Coleman was guest of honour at the Carrick-on-Shannon 400 Wrap Event on Thursday 13th February last in the Bush Hotel.  The event was a thank you to all those who helped to make Carrick-on-Shannon 400 an amazing year for the town. 

Carole Coleman, a native of Carrick-on-Shannon, spoke about how fantastic it was for her and her family to move home from the US in the midst of all the celebrations.  She highlighted all the wonderful attributes of the town and how the "holy trinity" of community, business and state worked together to create a year of a hundred plus events and firmly put Carrick-on-Shannon on the map.  Carole spoke of how over the 12 years she has been living away from Carrick-on-Shannon she never met an Irish person who didn't wish to move home and she emphasised the importance of the Carrick-on-Shannon 20/20 Vision in helping to develop the town further and provide opportunities for people to move home. 

Other speakers on the night included: John Bredin Chairperson of the Carrick-on-Shannon Heritage Group, Gerry Faughnan President of the Carrick-on-Shannon Chamber of Commerce, Frank Curran County Manager Leitrim County Council.
