"Manor Summit" planned for February 18th in Bee Park Manorhamilton

Next Steps in Manorhamilton REDZ in train with all sectors working towards Manor Summit

The ‘Manor Summit’ will be on Thursday 18 February, from 7.00pm to 9.30pm in The Bee Park Centre in Manorhamilton. The target is to have an attendance of 100+ people involved in various sectors of business and community in the broader Manorhamilton area as a continuation of the Regional Economic Development Zone (REDZ) initiative. The Summit will follow this format:

o   Brief welcome and introduction

o   ‘What’s Possible When We Put Our Minds to Things: The Draperstown/Workspace Experience’, Patsy McShane (15 minutes)

o   The REDZ Plan in summary (Mark Conway)

o   ‘Not Just Theory, ACTION: What’s Happening Already’, cameos re progress in the areas of:

§  Streetscape/town plan improvements

§  Sports and leisure

§  Events and Festivals

§  Culture and creativity

§  Heritage Assets

 

  • Attendees  will be asked to ‘sign up’ to help with one of the above areas of Action/Activity as projects are shown to succeed when people with the talents and enthusiasm to drive them on are involved and working as part of a team.

o   Structured discussion, leading into a commitment to proceed

o   Close and depart

To plan the event, a meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd at 6pm in the Sculpture Centre in Manorhamilton. if you are living, working or interested in being involved in any of the above activity areas please do come along.
